Why It's Cool: Kids interested in music have probably dreamed of being a rock star, and our band camp will get them one step closer to realizing that dream!  Even if they’re not ready for rock stardom, they will have a blast working on songs they love in a fun, group atmosphere. With a 1:6 teacher to student ratio, your kids will get tons of individual attention and make huge progress in just one week.

What They’ll Do: Learn to play a selection of songs on their chosen instrument: guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, or vocals.  Work with a highly trained Bones Jones Music teacher and a junior counselor in a fun, creative, group setting. Create a band name, logos, shirts, promotional tools and more! Campers will be ready to perform their 4-6 song set at our Big Summer Concert on the Rockville Town Square Stage.

SAMPLE DAILY SCHEDULE

11 am Arrival

11 am - 12 pm Band practice

12 pm-12:30 pm Break-out Sessions (guitars, bass/drums, keys/vocals)

12:30-1 pm Lunch

1-2 pm Songwriting

2-3 pm Design and create posters, t-shirts, and other promotional items

3-4 pm Band practice

Why Kids Love It: Playing in a band is a great way to improve on an instrument in a group setting. Our friendly instructors make practicing fun and challenging.  Kids gain a tremendous sense of achievement, learn the benefits of working as a team, and gain a strong sense of community.

 

Who Should Attend: We welcome kids ages 9 & up for our Rock Band Camp. All experience levels welcome! Bands will be organized based on age and experience.

* All experience levels are welcome. However, piano/keyboard players will benefit from some prior experience.
