TUITION AND BILLING

Monthly Billing

Lessons and classes will be paid upfront monthly via Automatic Payment Plan. We will charge your credit/debit card or bank account directly on the 1st of each month. The amount will not change from month to month, regardless of how many weeks there are (4 or 5). If you are starting mid-month you will only be billed for the number of lessons/classes remaining in that month. The full monthly amount will be billed at the start of the following month

Registration Fee

A $25 registration fee will be charged with your first payment.

Material Fees

Enrollment in workshops, classes and lessons may require a material fee. This include any additional books, songs or other items deemed necessary to fulfill the students musical journey. All material fees will be discussed prior to charging your card on file.

HOLIDAYS

BJM Holiday Closings

We will be closed for the following holidays:  Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving (Thu, Fri, Sat), Christmas Break & New Year’s Day (12/24-1/1). These holidays are included in our tuition pricing and no additional makeup class/lesson will be owed or provided.

CANCELLING & RESCHEDULING

If you are traveling or have a scheduling conflict need need to miss a single class, let us know by logging into our Student Portal and marking your attendance for the day(s) you need to miss. Provide at least 24 hours notice when cancelling. Failure to provide this notice will result in full payment for the missed lesson/class. Verbally informing us of cancellations will not be honored.

If you miss a class on any given week, and you cancelled with 24 hours notice, you are welcome to attend one of our regularly scheduled Training Classes.

We do not reschedule classes/lessons and we do not offer refunds for lessons, classes, workshops, or camps

Stopping or Pausing Classes/Lessons for an Extended Time

If you wish to stop or pause your lessons, we must be notified via email by the 20th of the month prior to the absence. Failure to do so will result in the usual monthly charge.

If you choose to stop or pause your lessons/classes for any reason, you will be charged the $25 registration fee upon your return.

Training Classes

Training Classes are classes designed to offer students additional experience working on the art of playing. Each class offering will focus on a specific area of study such as: strumming/rhythm, chords, arpeggios, improv, etc. Occasionally, you will have the opportunity focus on goals and concepts from your regular classes.

You can use Training Classes to make up for any missed lessons. To schedule a Training Class, use the Student Portal.

Student Portal

We have an online Student Portal which allows you to access your schedule and lesson history, cancel a lesson/class, view and Register for upcoming Training Classes,  workshops & events, log practice time and download documents from BJM and your teacher.

There is a NEWS section where we will post news, events and weather closings, so please familiarize yourself with this valuable resource.

If you need us to resend your login details, please email us.

STUDENT ATTENDANCE

Please be on time for you lesson, class or workshop. Classes and workshops will begin at their scheduled times. If you are late for a lesson, you may not receive your full lesson.

TEACHER ATTENDANCE

Our goal is to be here for our students at all times. Occasionally a teacher may have a scheduling conflict or become ill. When this occurs we will arrange for a substitute teacher and the student’s lesson/class will continue as scheduled. When this is not possible, BJM will credit the student/parent on the following month’s bill.

PARENTS

Please wait for your child in the lobby or outside of the lesson room.  Lessons/classes are more productive without parents in the room.

PRACTICING

You should have a dedicated practice area that is free of distractions, including: tv, siblings, friends, etc. Practicing your instrument regularly is the only way to improve and reach your goals. Frequent short sessions are more beneficial than longer infrequent sessions. For example, 20 minutes on M, W, F will yield better results than 40 minutes on Tu & Thu.

PERMISSION AND WAIVERS

Photographs, Audio & Video Recordings and Promotional Materials

Please note that from time to time we will publish photographs and/or make audio & video recordings of students, students’ families and friends, and other members of an audience in attendance at a performance for the purpose of advertising, promoting, and/or increasing awareness of BJM on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, BJM.com and promotional flyers. By signing our online registration form, parents/students hereby give their permission for BJM to photograph and make such audio and video recordings of their student(s). BJM will own the copyright of its photographs and audio and video recordings and as such may publish them in any medium. If you do not wish for you or your child's image to be published, please talk to Billy and fill out a Do Not Consent form.
