• GUITAR •

Beginners - If you are just starting out on guitar, we will check your guitar to make sure that it is set-up properly and is a good fit for you. You will be introduced to a widely used type of guitar notation called TAB, learn to read chord charts, begin a variety of strumming patterns, learn the string names and how to tune your guitar. And that is just the beginning!

Intermediate Beginners - If you already know some chords, have tried reading TAB, have been learning on YouTube, can play a few songs but feel that there is more to be learned, we can help clear up any confusion by working on songs you've started learning and songs you would like to learn. We will introduce you to many techniques including: bar chords, hammer-ons, pull-offs, using a capo, alternate tunings, and our favorite guitar songs that use these techniques.

Intermediate - If you can comfortably play through most of the songs you like and would like a greater challenge, to explore scales and improvising, to analyze chord progressions, explore alternate voicings and inversions, alternate tunings including drop D and DADGAD, we will develop a personalized plan just for you.

• Private Lessons or Small Group Lesson?

Most guitar teachers only offer private lessons to their students which is a great format for some, but it's not always the best for all students. We have found that the atmosphere of a group lesson can help inspire students to learn quicker, practice more, and actually apply their knowledge to playing music.

Another benefit of a group is learning to play with other musicians. You will not only learn to play the guitar but also establish connections with other students like you. Having other players around you will reinforce everything you learn, and will motivate you to learn and play even more!

During the first free lesson we will discuss the best format to suit you and your goals.
